For years Garda Cartiere has been supporting important projects in the Trento region, which includes the company's effort to promote the best in local culture by working with culturally-committed associations, organisations and foundations. One of the most prestigious partnerships is the one with MART, the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Trento and Rovereto.
The MART is one of the most important museums of modern and contemporary art in Italy and internationally renowned in its sector. The new location, designed by Mario Botta in 2002, begins at the large central square and continues on four floors with 6,000 square meters dedicated to 20th and 21st century art and more that 5,000 square meters dedicated to areas for studying, teaching and other activities. Its assets, consisting of over 30,000 paintings, drawings and sculptures, was formed by acquisitions, donations and bequests from important private collections. A significant part of the collection is dedicated to Futurism but all the major artistic movements of the century are represented.
