The Environmental Statement has been written in line with the provisions of EEC Regulation 761/2001, also known as EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme). EMAS is a system of eco-management binding companies and organisations that voluntarily subscribe, to maintain constant awareness of environmental aspects. Garda Cartiere’s compliance with this regulation is a clear indication of the company’s desire to maintain a good relationship with the territory of which it is part and in openly supplying clear information about its actions and objectives, and their implications for the environment.
The Environmental Statement is a powerful way to communicate. It is a document made available to those working with the company and to any interested organisation or member of the general public (the local community, public institutions, stakeholders, etc.) By complying with EMAS, the Company commits to sending updates of its Environmental statement, which have been endorsed by an accredited environmental verifier, to the appropriate body and to make them publicly available. The next validation of the Environmental Statement will be within the next two years.
